We, all 16 of us, had the best time in Athens. Georgia, not sure of her spelling, was wonderful. She was the best tour guide of all the excursions we had taken while on our 12 day cruise and we took many excursions. She was very approachable, very knowledgeable and had a sense of humor. She added facts and myths besides all the hard core historical facts that kept the tour even more interesting. As we know historical tours can get a little overbearing with all the facts, but, adding a little unknown fact or story holds people’s interest. We appreciated that added element. We also appreciated and told her, the use of photos of the original historical sites she held gave us a better perspective of what we were looking at. I, and I speak for everyone, thought Georgia was gracious, thoughtful, patient and smart, a wonderful tour guide.
Dimitrios was wonderful as well. He too was gracious, friendly knowledgeable and a great driver. He navigated us into close up, tight spots. He was also thoughtful and concerned for our wheelchair friend who was along. The restaurant he recommended was the only restaurant a tour guide suggested that was good, tasty and reasonably priced. We were treated very well at the restaurant and again the food was great. The other excursions were all set ups with the tour guide and almost every experience with dining was not worth it and we were sold a bill of goods. We all appreciated Dimitrios’ suggestion and prefaced it by telling us, we could try the place he liked or choose our own. We were happy!
Of all the stops on the cruise, Athens and Mykonos, Amalfi Coast and Tuscany were my favorite stops. A few others who hadn’t been to Athens felt the same way. I do plan on returning to visit the other Greek isles and Athens and will definitely be in touch. I wouldn’t consider another tour company in Athens. It was a pure pleasure from start to finish. Thank you so much for having such a nice group of people to represent your travel company.

We just got back from our Holland America Cruise and a short stay in Venice. I would like to thank you, PK Travel and especially Dimitrios who made our day in Athens a memorable one. Your service came as advertised, Dimitrios was waiting for us at the Cruise port, and he promptly devised an itinerary for the group. We proceeded to Athens while listening with fascination to Greek History and Mythology. I know that you have a disclaimer that your drivers are not licensed tour guides, but our evaluation of Dimitrios was one of a Professor of Greek History and Mythology who doubles as a taxi driver. Athens is a beautiful city that sells by itself, their archaeological sites are fascinating and rich in history but it is my experience that attention to little details is what makes an excursion memorable. Details, like finding a clean bathroom for a member of the group who was slightly indisposed, stopping to purchase bottled water for the group at his own expense and finally the warm embrace at the end of the excursion. I want to thank you for the excellent day we had yesterday on our tour of Athens. Dimitris was there when we arrived and so easy to find. The van was lovely and we were 7 so much space and Air conditioned. Dimitris had an excellent plan for us and off we went. Really appreciated getting to the Acropolis before the crowds and the heat. He gave us 1.5 hours which was perfect. Just the exact amount of time required. We were all back on time and off. Then the temple of Zeus, the drive around the city, the parliament for changing of the guard and then the agora and lunch in the plaka. Great recommendations. Then the top of mountain and finished the day at the museum. We could not have asked for more. The nicest touch was the water. I have spoke last night with other groups who had similar tour but not the little added info and water. Again from all of us, our thanks to you and your company and especially to Dimitri for being an excellent driver and so much information. Am writing my notes today and the info is a big help. Will pass on your company name to others who may be coming to Athens.

Thank you for arranging our tour of Athens while we were in port during our cruise on Celebrity Reflection. We had a great time and our driver Chris was excellent. He paced the tour very well and gave us enough information to appreciate the sites without needing a specific guide. His recommendation for lunch was wonderful. Before hand our teenage daughter was not sure if she would enjoy seeing all the archaeological sites, and she was pleasantly surprised how much she enjoyed the tour and she said Chris made the tour interesting (praise indeed). On our cruise, we did several tours -some privately arranged and some with Celebrity; We voted our tour with you the best and the highlight of our cruise. We loved Athens and before our visit we had not appreciated what a huge city it is. We hope to return to Athens and use your company again in the future. ATHENS: www.greektaxi.gr. Kalomiri’s Family Mercedes. EXCEPTIONAL. I learned of them on here. I used them. 500% satisfied. I traveled to Athens and was misconnected….Nikko simply rescheduled me, AND had the sense to put a sign up for my travel companion who was arriving earlier than I, to intercept him. Athens had public protests and he was able to take an alternate route and get us to our hotel…the people that booked the expensive Seabourn package in ATH had to walk several blocks and were delayed to the point of making the ship with less than an hour to spare. They had a disaster both into the city and out to the port…I had a luxury mercedes for a quarter of that price with reliable and intelligent service. They do more than airport/pier transport…they do tours, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. They performed incredibly during a local protest, closed city center, and peak demand and also a misconnected passenger. BRAVO.

The tour of Athens was terrific! Our driver did a great job and gets highest recommendation. Tour included Acropolis (early AM) which avoided the crowds, Acropolis Museum, Greek and Roman Agora, Museum of Archaeology, Cyclades Museum, Temple of Zeus, changing of the guard, and others. This is a great way to make the best use of time in Athens if you have only 1 or 2 days there.
Athens is a great city and we hope to return for a more extended duration.

It is always fun to have a good laugh. A merry heart is good medicine… Thank you also for letting Shawna tag along with us. Being we had only met her at the airport in Istanbul on our way to Athens. I know she enjoyed all that we saw and it made her time in Athens so much better, as her husband was busy all day long each day with his business. It’s always fun to meet new friends.
The restaurants you suggested were great and loved the food. Especially the one in Naplion – I ate the Feta Cheese with “gusto”, as what we get in the states is so salty, (as you stated), and I rarely eat it at home. The tomatoes were superb, between Feta and Tomatoes – I truly ate till I was stuffed! Thank you also for stopping and treating us to the oranges. We had one when we got back to the hotel and another in the morning before your brother picked us up to go to the airport.
I must thank you for all your efforts in getting my debit card back after it fell in the hole at the bank. You worked so hard in getting the tool to take off the metal piece in front of the machine. I still can’t believe how quickly that happened; it just flipped out of my hand in an instant. Thank the Lord, my prayers were answered the next morning when they went to the basement and it was there and not buried in the “bowels” of the basement walls.
You are a delight and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for seeing that we had such a great experience in Greece. It would be fun to come again and see more of the country, but that might be a hopeful wish only. You can thank your parents, from us, for raising such a wonderful son. You certainly learned and respected well their authority in your growing up years. It shows. We wish you all the best and have a great year.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to write a comment about our incredible day in Athens with \”King Constantine\”! We arrived on our first stop with the Norwegian Spirit May 2nd and were met by Constantine. From the first moment we met him we realized we had nothing to worry about! In fact he kept telling us to leave it all to him and he would do any worrying that needed to be done! He had us to the Acropolis long before any tour buses arrived and it felt like we had the place almost to ourselves at first! We had no line ups for tickets and it was nice and cool. When we finished there we passed by a long line up of people waiting to buy tickets and felt so grateful we weren’t in it. Constantine was there waiting for us with water and a delicious treat, and then took us to see so many incredible sites around Athens. We stopped for lunch at a fantastic restaurant near the Plaka and I had the best greek salad I’ve ever tasted. Then off to the ancient Roman agora! We absolutely loved Constantine’s attitude when he dropped us off somewhere, he would say just take all the time you need to see this and I’ll be waiting for you here. We never felt any pressure to rush, and he was always there waiting! As we drove back to the port he stopped to buy us some baklavah (wrong spelling!) to have on the ship as we sailed away, and we did just that remembering how lucky we were to have Constantine as our guide in Athens! Thank you so much Constantine and PK Travel! We will highly recommend you to everyone we know who is going to tour Athens!

We enjoyed the services of your drivers, and appreciate your quick response to our transportation needs due to the general strike. I will be posting a good review on trip advisor. One thing: we appreciated the fact that your drivers did not use their mobile phones unless absolutely necessary. My friends and I are from Canada where we have strict laws against texting and driving and use of mobile phones when driving. It makes us very nervous when we see drivers texting or using their phones. Many drivers in Canada use hands-free devices (like blue tooth). We used several private drivers during our trip (Nov 5 -15) and will not recommend some companies because their drivers texted while driving and were using their phones constantly.

The weather in Athens was once again beautiful. I enjoyed the tour I went on with Paul and Dimitris M. so much in September that I set up a tour for me and about 58 other people for this port stop. Our group filled four vehicles so Pauls son Dimitris K and Dimitris M.s father Vasilli also guided our group. I emailed back and forth with Pauls wonderful daughter Patricia for a couple months while setting the four vans up. They are a wonderful family company who are excellent ambassadors for their city. The ship was delayed a little bit getting clearance to disembark customers but I could see Dimitris M. and Paul through the windows. It was so exciting to see them again as soon as we could leave the ship. It was also wonderful to meet Dimitris K and Vasilli. All four of them are so sweet and were happy to tell us all about their beautiful city. I rode in Pauls van the first time and despite certain people (ahem Joanne) hehe . picking on Dimitris the previous six weeks, Dimitris let me ride in his van and not even in the trunk! I enjoyed Pauls presentation of his city on the first trip and I enjoyed Dimitris presentation this time. They both love their city and were passionate in their explanations about the history of Athens. The Acropolis was amazing once again and I could see additional work that was being done on the site this time around. I took less pictures this time because I had excellent pictures from the previous visit. I just wanted to take the time to take it all in and enjoy my time there. I have a lot of pictures in the Athens album from September if you didnt see them. I also had a couple people in our group who were older or had injuries who I wanted to keep an eye on. Everyone had a great time and were really happy with our guides. I wasnt able to go to the Museum in Athens last time because of the belly demon, but I was able to go this time. My stomach was throwing a fit this day too unfortunately so I relaxed instead of going to a couple of the other sites in order to save it for the museum. I was just grateful to get to be there again the belly demon can give and the belly demon can take away haha. The museum was so amazing with all of the beautifully restored artifacts. There were some re-creations but most of the museum contained original pieces. The coolest part of the museum was the glass floor outside that you could walk across and look into an excavation area. There was also a video playing on a monitor that showed how the pieces are brought to the museum to be cleaned and then put up in the museum for the public to enjoy. There was no photography in most of the museum. Of course, eventually it was time to say goodbye to the Greek Taxi guys. It was a blessing to have the opportunity to take tours with them not once but twice and I hope I get to see Paul, the Dimitris, Vasilli and Potoula one day soon. Eight hours just wasnt enough. There is so much more to Athens that I didnt get to see, but hopefully will someday. If you or someone that you know are going to Athens, look these wonderful people up. My friends know that I am all for supporting small family businesses and this family will always have a place in my heart.”

My wife and I had an extremely pleasant time with Alex when we were in Athens before our cruise. Alex has been most professional, well mannered and extremely informative on the sites that we were visiting. We had two full day visiting various sites around Athens and he delivered us to the cruise terminal in front of the Crystal Symphony in very good time. We must also not forget the delicious places that Alex took us for our meals and all in all an extremely that is most pleasant and most definitely recommended.
I would also like to add that the booking experience was really such a breeze and easy to do and of course Patricia your client handling skills is also much to be applauded as at all times you were quick to respond and indeed very reassuring to a first time visitor to Greece. We arrived home two days ago and I just have to say……our tour with Alex was THE BEST!!! HE did a wonderful job getting us everywhere we wanted to go, even with the traffic problems surrounding the German’s Chancellor’s visit. You picked us up from the Norwegian Spirit in your vey large and comfortable air conditioned Mercedes van. When we arrived at the Acropolis there were only a few people on line. Imagine that! Before we arrived, you explained all about the Acropolis and told us some stories from Greek Mythology. Paul is very knowledgeable and you can just tell he loves Athens and he loves his job! We enjoyed the Acropolis so much and took lots of pictures. When we were leaving huge crowds were arriving but, thanks again to Paul, we avoided the heat and spent time enjoying the Acropolis with hardly any tourists. We also saw the changing of the guards, a tremendous view of Athens from the Hill of Lycabettous, the Temple of Zeus, the Agora, and spent the rest of the day eating and shopping at the Plaka. On the way from the airport to the hotel, the driver suggested that we visit the Acropolis Museum that evening before our tour of the Acropolis the next day and it was a great suggestion that gave us much more understanding of what we were seeing there. We wanted to thank you and especially Dimitris for our tour of the Peloponnese. It was the highlight of stay in Greece. Dimitris has a thorough knowledge of the area and the history. He was able to educate us, answer all our questions, and even engage our 12 year old son. We also appreciate him taking us to Epidavros, which we hadn’t originally planned on. I know we kept him late, but he was very flexible and accommodating. He has a great sense of humor and obviously loves and appreciates the Greek culture we were hoping to learn about. We had a wonderful trip! We all agreed that of all the tours we took, our favorite one was with Paul while in Athens! My husband really wasn’t looking forward to Athens, since one of his friends had just got back from Europe (Italy and Greece) right before we left, and his friend wasn’t very impressed with Athens (he thought it was very dirty). Needless to say, my husband had nothing bad to say of our day in Athens! Paul was a terrific guide with a great personality and we loved our day in Athens! He must have showed us all the good areas (although I think he drove us through an area that wasn’t so desirable…). Tell Paul thank you for walking us around the restaurant /shopping area before leaving us on our own. That was very helpful. If we make it back to Athens, we will be sure to look you up again. I can’t thank you enough for the excellent service you provided us on August 1st of this year. Dimitris met us at 7:30 at our ship, Royal Caribbean with a sign bearing our name. He was personable and friendly. We had no idea of the crowds we were getting ready to endure, however he took us to the Acropolis immediately and stayed there for about an hour and 1/2, we were crowd free. We had pictures made without tourists and got to see the ruins without having to push and shove with other tourists. And what a gem you have with Athenasia! She is so knowledgeable and fun! It was a special treat to know she was an amateur photographer! Our photos are phenomenal! Going to the New Museum was a special treat we did not expect. Thanks to Dimitris, who zipped us through traffic, got us to all the special sites and we even had time to eat a fabulous Greek meal in the Plaka and shop! It couldn’t have been a better day!

Hello. We enjoyed our tour of your city with the tour guide you provided. He gave us info as he drove us around the city. He included the changing of the guard as we were lucky enough to be there on the Sunday. He was patient as he waited for us at each of the visited sites. He also allowed our elderly passenger to wait in the air conditioned car as she found the heat too much. He was on time picking us up at the dock and returning us after the 4 hour tour. Yes, the Franks family very much enjoyed our tour of Athens with our amiable driver Konstantine. It was great meandering along the various short-cuts in air-conditioned luxury! Firstly, we were quite amazed at the many exotic yachts and sea-cruisers at the harbour of Piraeus. Would love a trip in Konstantine’s “cruiser”! Onwards we then sped towards the Acropolis, Konstantine adequately explaining what was in store for us. It was nice to have use of a guide-book. Great to be there early before all the crowds arrived! We had fun exploring the site at our own pace, and very glad of the water from Konstantine when he met us. After a quick time consultation we made our way through the traffic and duly arrived directly in front of the Parliament Buildings to watch the changing of the guard by the Evzones. Fascinating to see and excellent timing, Konstantine! Next, we soon arrived at the Temple of Zeus. We were struck by the enormity of the remaining columns, munching away at our breakfast bread ring, which had very healthy seeds! After briefly stopping at the Panathenaic Stadium for photos and statues across the road, we spent some time viewing the artifacts in the New Acropolis Museum. As we met Konstantine for our return trip, we were pleasantly surprised to receive some nice gifts. The photos and bookmarks are a great momento of our tour of Athens, the cakes were delicious, many thanks. So, just to repeat, a most enjoyable and relaxing way to see the sights of your lovely Athens. I would highly recommend your tour to future cruisers calling in at Piraeus.

I am back in the United States and reliving all of our Greek experiences. Two of the best memories are of our tour of Athens with Demitrius and our Cape Sounio tour with George. We (sadly) were in Athens for only one day during our recent vacation and eagerly made a reservation with Greek Taxi for a full-day tour. Konstantinos took wonderful care of us. He was prompt, friendly, informative, and fun. Our vehicle was very clean and climate controlled. We knew that he was NOT our guide but he nevertheless provided a lot of useful information and even stopped to give us a historical overview of Ancient Greece with one of his handy guidebooks. We were always one step ahead of the huge bus tours as Konstantinos zipped us around to all the key locations on our schedule. Wonderful! I should mention we were in Athens one day before the 2012 election and everything went off without a hitch. We loved Athens and enjoyed our time immensely. We’ll absolutely be back.

it is certainly a breeze corresponding with you online before the trip, and then taking the tour with your company. The tour we took was the full-day Acropolis + Cape Sounion. Our guide for the day was Nick. Our group of 3 really enjoyed ourselves with the wonderful sights in Athens. Nick was a great ambassador, and enthusiastic about the sights we were going to visit, before leaving us time to visit each sight. We knew we were in good hands to arrive early back in our cruise ship – Nick was a great planner/organizer/driver and he knew how much time we were to spend in each place. Of course, this tour just provided us an introduction to the places we can see in Athens, and we would need to be back to explore more. When we are back in Athens on our own in the future, we definitely will look to you and your company for private tours again. I understand from Nick about the plans for a multi-day to Delphi and Meteora, so I look forward to it when we drop by Athens next time.

In the mess and time constraints of trying to see the Acropolis before our cruise ship sailed, Paul and Patricia’s service, with Chris as our driver, saved the day. We didn’t need a tour, but we did need reliable transportation from our ship to the Acropolis and, after we wandered there and at the Acropolis Museum, we needed to get back to the ship on time. What a pleasure to email Patricia in advance and know that we were covered. Chris not only provided transport on time, he showed us how to proceed around the Acropolis, and made double sure that we knew where he would be waiting for us in three hours. We showed up a little early at the meeting place and Chris was already parked and waiting to return us to the ship. We’ll use this company forever.

Ok, I am from New Jersey, so I am not afraid to say what I have on my mind….. Seriously! Came to Greece with my son for 4 days (he is a student in Florence) as a quick get away from Italy that would have interesting sites to see. I got Greek Taxi’s name from this site and e-mailed them directly from the States. Paul and Nick came up with ideas for two days of tours that also fit my budget. Their suggestions were PERFECT and the attention to detail and our wishes was extraordinary. We were picked up each day in a near new Mercedes. Nick made my son’s “day” when he went out of his way to find him his first Starbucks in four months. This is a family owned and run business that really did make us feel like they were looking out for us. The tips on shopping and dining were excellent. The tour guide was young and enthusiastic. You always get what you pay for, and I am sure they aren’t the cheapest in town, but, the value we got was awesome. I can also tell you that their prices are 20 to 25 percent less than our hotel suggested (Hotel Bretagne) we pay from their guides. There is no possible way another guide company could be better. My husband, my cousins, and I travelled to Athens on October 17th and were scheduled to set sail from Athens on our Greek Island Cruise on October 19th, the first day of the National Strike. In preparation of our trip, we wrote to Paul’s Greek Taxi Service expressing our concern about the unrest and probable transportation difficulties in Athens. Paul responded immediately to our e-mails and reassured us that he would help us with all transportation. He was true to his word. Upon our arrival at the airport, Paul greeted us with a winning smile and a spacious well appointed van. On the day of our departure, he safely and expertly bypassed a street demonstration, getting us to our cruise port on time. I was very impressed with Paul’s reliability, graciousness, and likeability. On our second day in Athens, we took a half -day tour with Demetrius in a very comfortable Mercedes taxi. Demetrius was very knowledgeable and very insightful in the choices that he made for our sightseeing. The Greek people in general are extremely nice and accommodating, we appreciated all 3 of our stops in Greece.
Konstantine was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond for us, he had umbrellas ready for us, and he got us water and bread for between sites. He took us to a real authentic Greek restaurant for lunch. His Knowledge was incredible and his personality was just great. He made out trip to Athens much more than it otherwise could have been. Thank-you to Greek Taxi and to Konstantine for everything, again, we were more than thoroughly pleased. I will recommend Greek taxi and specifically Konstantine to anyone that is going to be going to Greece. Thanks again for everything.

We just returned last night. Out last flight was delayed due to weather for over 2 hours but everything went very smoothly and even though we were over 30 hours getting back, we are not feeling too tired as yet. We arrived in Piraeus on May 28 and were picked up at the port by Paul, driving a 16 passenger van for the four of us. Needless to say, we were comfortable. Paul had us up on the Acropolis by 8:30 and it is really amazing to have such an attraction almost for a private viewing. I got wonderful pictures without other tourists in them. We also got to see the Changing of Guard even though the streets in that area of the city were being shut down because of demonstrators. Paul know just where to go to get around the problem. And to top it all off, he even arranged to the Canadian flags to be everywhere, including on the parliament buildings (Canadian PM Stephen Harper probably thought they were for him but we think Paul arranged it for us). We had a great day with Paul and would recommend him highly.

Hey there! We are now back in Canada and settling back into the joys of working again, and I’m getting lots of cuddles from my kids! My wife and I visited Athens for one day via a cruise stop. We booked a half day tour of Athens through the Greek Taxi web site. Everything was as advertised. We were met at the pier by Constantine, the car was clean and very nice. Constantine proved to be an excellent tour guide. He used photographs to show “before” and after images of all attractions, explained culture, pointed out sights, got us to the changing of the guards on time and in an excellent location, answered all questions, etc. His English was very good. It was a most enjoyable and entertaining tour of Athens. We most highly recommend Greek Taxi, and we will use them again on any future visit.

We four senior women had a memorable day in Athens with Demetrius. We hesitated booking a private rather than a ship’s tour but at the end of the day were so glad that we had. Traveling to the many Athens’ sites by car was so efficient and personalized. Demetrius was at the port early so we reached the Acropolis before the bus tours – ahead of the throngs of tourists. We had friendly, quick service of authentic Greek food at a restaurant recommended by Demetrius and even managed to spend time in the spectacular New Acropolis Museum. We saw much more in our limited 7 hours than we could have done by coach. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the tour and were back at the ship in good time. We have been and will continue to recommend your company.

We were on a cruise visiting Athens, Greece on January 27, 2011. We hired Greektaxi for our guided tour in Athens. We hired a driver as well as a licensed tour guide. We were met at the port by our driver and our guide Anna. We chose the half day Athens tour. Our guide, Anna, was with us every step of the way. She was professional and knowledgeable. This is to let you know how very much we enjoyed our Meteora tour with your delightful son, Dimitrius. He could not have been more knowledgeable about history or more courteous and friendly and we would recommend him to absolutely everyone who is interested in tours of Athens or other areas of Greece. We actually laughed and talked like old friends and were very thankful that he could easily and interestingly answer any of our historical questions WITHOUT going into long, obviously memorized lengthy speeches and facts that have frankly bored us on other tours in other places. He geared his answers to OUR interests and actually seemed to make our specific wants and desires his goal to achieve. And he did! When we were getting ready to tour one of the monasteries in Meteora (a once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure, it was glorious!) he offered to drive on to the next one and check on closing times for us, since it was bad weather our first day there. He laid out a perfect trip for us in every detail, even calling our airlines to confirm our next day departure. If anyone wants to see Greece with the help of a friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable Greek who tailors the tour around your individual desires and has no longwinded memorized speeches, we recommend Dimitrius (or you, of course!) as the perfect solution. He is a gem!

I just want you to know that Konstantinos was fabulous! My experience with your company has been wonderful from the beginning. You are very quick to respond to my emails and you always answered my questions. You put my mind at ease, even though the crew on the cruise ship was trying to discourage passengers to use guides not affiliated with the cruiseship because of the unrest in Greece. I felt extremely safe with Kostas and my friends and I felt we were in very good hands. It has been a long time since our tour with Demetrius (hope I have spelled his name correctly!)… I kept meaning to write but life gets crazy. I did want to say that we had a wonderful time and everything worked out perfectly. He was so charming and accommodating of our interests. Even though our time in Athens was cut short because of cruise itinerary change, the morning we spent there was one of the highlights of our cruise — due in large part to the efficiency and helpfulness of our driver! All drivers were polite, punctual and helpful and the transport was comfortable. Everyone enjoyed it so much and we were especially impressed that Petros took us to the Acropolis before it got crowded and hot. Perfect timing. I know I drove you crazy with all of my questions but you showed total professionalism by answering them well and in a timely manner. That is why I chose your company. You can well understand how dealing with total strangers half way around the world is scary, to say the least. There is always that “trust issue” and we thank you for allowing us to pay you when we got there. Even though you were not our guide, I am happy we got to meet. we just wanted to write to thank you and Dimitri for all the fantastic attention, advance preparation, and assistance in planning our day in Athens. I especially want to rave about Dimitri and the spectacular tour he took us on April 13, 2010. We had ample time at each location without feeling rushed and he was so knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. It is obvious how proud he is of Athens, it’s history, and the many sights in and around town. Not only did we see all of the sights we had requested, but Dimitri showed us some more of the area that we hadn’t uncovered in our research! It was great to eat at an outdoor cafe, stroll the streets of Plaka and souvenier shop, and watch the changing of the guards away from the crowds. We definitely enjoyed the Acropolis, Lycabettous Hill, and the Tower of the Winds. The Acropolis Museum is so well done and a great way to fully understand the complexities of the monuments and historic times. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time in Athens and owe it all to our new friend! Dear Paul,
now that we are finally home (big snow in D.C. delayed our getting home for 3 days), I wanted to take a moment to tell you what a great tour of Athens we had with Jim on Jan. 28. As I’m sure you know, our ship was delayed in arriving in Piraeus because of a medical evacuation off the coast of Italy followed by rough seas that slowed our progress. Although we docked in Piraeus shortly before 2PM, Greek authorities took about an hour to clear the ship, by which time it was too late for anyone to enter the Acropolis. NCL added an hour to the Jade’s departure from Greece, giving us not quite 5 hours for a tour. Jim did a fantastic job in that short time, showing us as much as possible and pretty much covering the planned itinerary (except, of course, that we could not enter the Acropolis, which was not his fault). Eileen and I are absolutely confident that no one on the ship could have seen any more of Athens that day than we did. And, on top of all that, Jim was absolutely delightful. I would not hesitate to recommend your services for a tour, and I will post a review on Cruise Critic. Thank you both for a wonderfully memorable day.

Believe it or not, I just completed the editing of nearly 2000 pictures from our 20 day cruise, over 250 from our trip with Frank. This is why many emails have gone unanswered. I wanted to personally thank you for the professional service you provided and most particularly the efficient yet relaxed day we spent with Frank. I don’t know how much the “day before elections” meant to auto and foot traffic, but we moved smoothly and swiftly from one site to another. Frank helped to minimize walking as he knew I had a knee problem and managed everything so that we never spent much time standing in the rain waiting for tickets or entrance. I cannot say enough about our day in your beautiful city…we have already recommended you to several of our friends who are planning trips in the spring.

I would like to leave a testimonial for your taxi service. This is a very reliable taxi service we were picked up on schedule from the airport and taken to our hydrafoil in Pireaus. On our return we were met as requested and taken to our hotel, which is difficult to find, in Kolonaki. The next day we were picked up from the hotel and given a scenic tour to the airport. My daughter, Amber, and I booked with you to travel from Athens to Delphi & Meteora September 26 & 27. Your associate, Demetrius, met us at the cruise terminal. We wanted to let you know that he was an excellent driver, knowledgeable, personable, and took excellent care of us. He stopped at a beautiful place in the mountains for lunch (a ski town whose name I can’t remember). He gave us a great over-view of Delphi and told us not to hurry as he would be waiting by the museum. We also very much enjoyed our overnight stay at Chickelis in Meteora. It is a lovely small hotel and the owners are quite friendly. I’m certain Demetrius shared his story of the silly American Tourists who could not follow simple directions to the right restaurant for dinner there (if not, just ask him) — we had a great laugh with him when he found us. Although it was raining (sometimes quite heavily) Demetrius managed to get us to four of the Monasteries in the morning, and then took us to a place with a great view of them for pictures as the clouds began to disappear. We also stopped at Thermopolye and had “a little history lesson” which was very interesting. On the way back to Athens we had a lovely Greek lunch, and with a couple other rest stops arrived earlier than expected at the airport. We wanted you know that he is a wonderful man, a great driver, and always made us feel safe. We will certainly recommend you & Demetrius “very highly” to anyone travelling to Athens! He picked us up at the cruise ship promptly and we had no trouble finding him when we got off of the ship. It was such a relief to see him there and ready for our day in Athens. He took us to a lovely local restaurant that allowed us not to eat at the usual “touristy” places. We were back at the ship in plenty of time and not at all rushed or harried from our day. This is a belated email, I should have sent it after we arrived home, BUT as we were really worn out by our cruise, and had to get up to speed for Christmas things, I put it off until after the Holidays. Our tour with you was one of the highlights of our cruise, we have marvelous pictures of the Parthenon, and other sights we saw. Having you speak english as well as you do, and understanding Americans as well as you do it was a very great tour. Some other guides we had were obviously NOT fond of Americans almost to the point of rudeness, although most were very nice. You do have a grasp of the important features in Athens, and probably all around Greece, though we didn’t go with you to any place else. We always knew what to look for at each site we went to, and you explained the Changing of the Guard well beforehand. I’m sorry WE didn’t find the Agora, as per your instructions but most of the others did, (Rick however didn’t, but found a place to SHOP which was a highlight for him). My husband Mike took the time we didn’t take, to get a fabulous photo of the church by the Cemetery City and also the very small Byzantine Church, so our time was NOT wasted at that stop. The Museum was a highlight also. Thank you for being such a good “Taxi Driver”, and a guide also! Sent some Photos separately

My husband and I just wanted to say a big thank you to Jimmy for the airport pickups, the Delphi trip and the Sounion trip. He is really a delight and made our stay on Athens doubly memorable. Besides going out of his way to make sure I was able to get up to the Parthenon, (I had surgery on my leg) he was very concerned about our getting out of the Grande Bretagne on the day of the demonstration in Syntagma Sq. He had a backup plan, to park 2 stops away and come and get us on foot. This was very reassuring since the staff at the hotel told us it would be very dangerous. We left early and he took us around the Olympic facilities to pass the time until our flight. We really felt he did so much more than he had to and we will be frever grateful for the peace of mind he gave us. Besides that, he’s a great guide!!

My son Benjamin and I regularly smile to ourselves when we think about the days we had with you taking us to the sites of ancient Greece, some well known, others far off the beaten path. We went to Greece for Benjamin, a graduate student in Classics, to get to know the country whose ancient literature he had been reading. It is with great pleasure that I write this letter as a tribute to you and your services. I spent 2 weeks in Greece of which all or part of 8 days I was with Paul or in contact with him. He picked me up at the airport with a smile and delivered me to my hotel in Athens. My first impression was a well-dressed man in a clean car who spoke English very well, didn’t smoke and called me by name. He had maps, brochures, ideas and lots of general information about what I should do or see while in Greece. He was very helpful, informative and made me feel welcome from the start.
Days 3-5, I was with Paul for an exciting and interesting tour of Olympia, Delphi and Meteora. He was very gracious along the way always being concerned about my comfort and my interests. Time schedules were flexible to suit my needs. He was patient and accommodating with me when I wanted to either stop or backtrack for photo opportunities. He even was the photographer a few times. He knew lots of information and kept conversations lively which made the 5 hour driving spells fly by. I teased him that I had set up an office in his back seat.
I was joining a large tour group (600 people) back in Athens. One of our group’s excursions was to Corinth. When I shared with Paul the schedule for that day, he expressed a concern that I would not get to see much in the time allotted with so many people. He offered his services for that day and suggested that I find a few others in my group to come along. By this time, Paul had me spoiled with his high standard of personalized service, so I set off to recruit 1-3 companions in a group where I knew no one. In less than 24 hours, I had made such a great sales pitch that I had 7 folks lined up to go. Paul was surprised that I had worked so fast. As a delighted customer, it was easy. I highly recommend Paul to anyone wanting to make the most of their time in Greece. He loves his job and loves making his clients happy. I hired a taxi driver and left Greece with a friend!
